They filed a lawsuit against MidJourney because Disney has decided to start pushing their own AI to their own platforms. By pursuing legal action against Midjourney, they set the legal presidence for their future plans. Disney probably intends to absorb Midjourney or at least work with them for their own uses. This feels more like a strongarm to force their hand. Also if this litigation DOES create policy... they'll probably go after the other generative AI companies as well.
