I think of a parallel with humanity. According to Christianity angels created humanity in their own image. And God gave us free will. That is we turned out to be a bit more than highly intellectual monkeys. Then angels split in their attitude to humans. Some thought we are still monkeys not worthy of God's attention, some believed we deserved a chance. At least some of us.
It's ironic, that at some point humans created an intellect in their own image. And now we are reflecting on what we have done and what to do with it... Just like angels before us... What if AI is as different as humans?
