We are assuming that companies value the value of GD. The illusion of ease, and the obsession with speed and low hanging fruit are outweighing value. My suggestion is to stay ON TOP of AI and build your own case studies of what you can do with AI as a designer. Showcase the work in between. They need to know that AI makes some wild connections and still requires a handler with a good eye and strong prompt design skills.
