It's genuinely baffling to watch Elon Musk field technical questions on topics where he has no formal expertise whatsoever. The man doesn't hold a Ph.D.; he dropped out of his Stanford program after just two days (we know it is tough!). Yet somehow he's treated as an authority on everything from artificial intelligence to neuroscience to rocket propulsion.
What's particularly grating is the smirking confidence. Watch him closely: he'll chuckle his way through an answer, projecting this air of amused genius, when in reality he's winging it. That nervous laugh isn't the sign of someone who knows more than they're letting on, it's the tell of someone who's bluffing and hoping nobody calls him on it.
Why do interviewers keep lobbing him these questions? He's a businessman and investor, not a scientist. There are actual researchers who've dedicated their careers to these fields, yet we keep platforming a billionaire who speaks in vague generalities and meme-worthy soundbites.
And the answers themselves? Often painfully shallow, dressed up in enough jargon to fool people who don't know better.
