Why is AI Safety so difficult? - Because this involves trying to curb human behavior, who are 'highly unpredictable.
Nevertheless it is true that when we build AI, we need to 'build in' logic, morality, to do that, we need to make the AI to have even closer human-level cognitive and reasoning capabilities in fact. We need Synthetic Intelligence, not just Artificial Intelligence.
On the risk of losing jobs to AI? Yes. This I agree. Lots of conventional jobs will be gone. Its inevitable. But what is stopping the person who got fired to also use AI to compete with their former employer in the same field? So from this perspective, AI democratizes competition.
