As an artist currently studying computer science in college it is incredibly sad to see how many people seem to fail to understand ai is not producing art the same way a human does, and the worst part is many will continue to refuse to accept that, because they find it easier to type up a prompt and hit generate instead of actively exploring the idea.
The worst part is that these models can be trained to mimic another person’s style. Whether or not Sam’s haters intended to or not, they have revealed perhaps the most terrifying possible use of AI for identity theft. They should not be proud of creating models that can better mimic Sam’s art, rather terrified of the potential that they have proven AI is essentially capable of stealing a person’s signature and dealing serious harm to a person in the case of a “prank.”
