"Disruptive" startup culture often relied on being able to poach already experienced staff from the incumbents being disrupted, for lower wages, but with a promise of stock options and payout when the startup "went big" and either went public or got acquired (most VCs planning for the acquisition path)
However, all the incumbents are also jumping on the vibe/AI bandwagon, hence that pool has become increasingly competitive.
