i don't think anyone with a brain would deny that AI is being shoved where it belongs and mostly where it doesn't. but to simply state that "someone will lose their job, therefor AI bad" is shortsighted. at one point there were elevator "drivers", and people who did computations by hand (we called them computers). automation eliminated those jobs. would anyone rather go back to those days? if studies show that AI is safer as a driver, then by all means replace drivers with AI, and let's find new jobs for those drivers.
as far as "predictions" by AI founders go, I wouldn't put too much stock in it. they keep predicting AGI is just around the corner for the past 8 years. they also predicted that AI will replace all customer service jobs, and now companies are panic-hiring back all the workers they laid off
