I have a bipolar 1 diagnosis. I remember psychotic manic episodes which lasted for months and typically involved hospitalization. Once I was so far gone I talked to God. Once I thought everyone in the psych ward was an actor and I was in some sort of psych ward Truman Show. I would interpret basically anything as a divine omen. Luckily Ive been toying with neural networks as a hobby for a long time, so I dont think I'd ascribe that kind of significance to any chatbot output.
This "yes and" stuff the chatbots are doing is so far outside the range of human responses I've seen that it genuinely horrifies me.
In reality its just a statistical stateless computer program, but if you were to interpret it as an entity capable of communicating meaning (as most people do), then it can best be understood as an actual demon.
