To be honest, the reason why I'm not necessarily 'with' AI but don't hope it stops is because I'm a programmer, and i find the initial idea of what AI is doing to be extremely fascinating, AI art less so as it still isn't as prominent as any sort of writing, but even while testing AI to generate my own programming or solving advanced math such as real analysis, the flaws are noticable and errors are significant, sometimes forgetting entire steps in math or definitions of functions in programming, an aspect I'm yet to see errors in is literature, but even while there aren't any 'errors', consistency and plot tend to be lacking. Profitability of AI art being illegal is a change I'd like to see, but in my eyes, it'll be as effective as speed limits down to the last unit while law enforcement is nowhere to be seen: you can't efficiently search the entire internet for even 1% of the AI artists that are profiting. Making AI is a fun yet slightly tedious task, creating them, along with most things in programming, will always be fascinating in my eyes. Using AI (taking away malicious intent) and getting excited is no different to me than rejoicing at a programmers work, it's when we reintroduce the maliciousness that we have an issue, mainly being the threat of overshadowing normal artists. It feels like a balloon threat: so much size and exposure yet having to weight at all, with most arguments falling when looking even slightly beyond the surface. Overall, AI is a cool tool but not cool when using it to just be a nuisance and trying to steal what little profit artists already make This is a nice video, i respect the tone and gentle-nature of how you convey information, along with statistics. One flaw i do have is comparing AI to NFT's, they're operating on different planes and comparing a statistic they both share feels a little disingenuous, NFT's were SOLELY meant to be financial, while AI art falls more in the entertainment sector, while seeming pedantic it causes a lot of fluctuation in both economic and exposure values, there's more incentive to use AI over NFT's for profit because in a way that's its purpose. I'd love to have a discussion with someone who fully sides with AI provided they're respectful, or Lavender herself is she notices this
