So I'm left with these pointers after listening to this episode:
- we're doomed and only have 5 years
- he didn't give us those 5 jobs which will remain, we only got "nobody has an occupation that can't be taken away by ai"
- we might live in a simulation
- we can live forever, just need to survive long enough
- it might all be over, but Yampolskiy still hoards bitcoin
- even if we're doomed and nothing will be worth anything eventually, we should still buy the HR system Steven is sponsored by
But the "best" part is that the doctor, while being all doom and gloom, he also says he can't predict anything.
And while Steven is all "AI is scary", I remembered that in the past he used AI to make an app to order him bottled water during am episode
We need to be careful, yes, but this doomsday mentality is just adding more stress, if simply demanding the rich do what was best for the people, we wouldn't be where we are today
