Are we heading into a future where all art is literally artificial? At some point, will we just stop creating art altogether and let the AI technology do it for us? Will AI technology write all our music, our novels, our poetry, illustrate and paint all of our art? No, for real, this is making me feel nauseous. What’s even the point of being creative? Of being human in the first place?
Thank you for speaking up about this, Sam. I didn’t really know anything about this issue until now - I’ve seen AI art on TikTok though. (Always kind of bugged me.) I find all of this extremely unsettling, and while I’m only a hobbyist, I do know how much time and effort and love goes into each art piece… and I can only imagine what it would be like to learn that an AI program has copied and deranged something you poured your heart and soul into. It pains me just to imagine it. 💔 The complete lack of empathy and understanding from those “AI artists” only underscores that they really aren’t artists at all.
