As an engineer with 14-15 years of experience, i have mixed feelings about AI coding. I dont like purely vibe-coding, but i really like using it to solve small isolated problems, eg. create a skeleton for a while loop, create a mockup testsuite for a new service class or other similarly sized tasks. I would never use it for a whole project.
I honestly feel like it works pretty well for the above mentioned tasks. Its definitely faster than me, creating tests. Yes, they are not flawless, and i review them prior to merging. But overall, i still save a lot of time.
