Machine learning just sort data based on predetermined values. It cannot stop and reflect on what it is doing. A human mind is designed for a world where it often cannot afford to get things wrong on the first try. This is an alien concept for machine learning.
Reminder that many years ago the simple NPC scripts running the game Diablo 1 was called "AI". The term AI is just a moving goalpost for marketing departments.
