In the same way that "it looks like shit and can't make anything good" was a challenge for AI developers to overcome, so is "AI will never make anything new" and "AI does not have lived experience to draw from"
What would happen when AI truly can make something new? What would happen when AI takes in all the sensory data of a human lifetime, simulated or in some robot or whatever? where will the goalposts have moved?
This is why I think it's important to keep it simple, with a hardline "screw this, I want something crafted by a human" and to not elaborate further. To try to explain yourself is only giving an opportunity for you to eat your own words years down the line.
