Some perspective from an old Engineer (20 years into my career with no regrets) College Seniors still have the problems college seniors always had:
1) The market is cyclical. Sorry you don't get to time you're graduation. If you ain't getting an offer do what I did and go back to grad school. It means your making money for your future self when the market turns around.
2) No one really knows where tech will be in 20 years. Sajjaad is right about AI in the next 3 years, Elon is... lieing... as long as I have been in the industry Elon has always been lieing (Sajaad explains why) you can ignore what the CEOs tell you. But truthfully if you are graduating tomorrow NO ONE knows what the industry will look like at the *end* of your career. Tech moves to fast. AI has made things move faster which makes things slightly worse. But that is the simple truth. If you listen the Sajjaad you'll be in a good spot for the next 5 years and in 5 years you will need to think about the next 5 years. You will love that or it will drive you insane. ....ok probably both. Engineers are bloody crazy! and we like it that way!
