Image generators can never surpass people because of two simple facts:
1. For artists, art is the point. For pro-AI people, art is just the thing they use to get something else.
2: It doesn't know what it's creating. An algorithm can't understand the structures behind the pixels it's assembling. That's why generated images have such weird anatomical mistakes that even a beginner wouldn't struggle with. My sister tried to generate a centaur just to see what would happen and the AI put a face in a horse chest and just created abominations because it didn't have enough images in its library to pull from to understand what a centaur is or how to make it. A human can just have a centaur described to them and properly draw it even with some anatomical errors and even without being artistically inclined if they have seen a person and if they have seen a horse, because humans can connect words to general appearances while AI has to directly pull from thousands of stolen pictures in its library and mush the pixels together to make something that doesn't look like an eldritch horror.
