As a software engineer. I can confirm that this video is downplaying the capabilities of AI. As of 6 Feb 2026. AI has got highly effective and efficient in writing code. It still hasn’t become 100% independent though. Atleast for 60% of the tasks it requires human perspective in the code it has written. There are instances where it does write messy code, but in most cases it writes really good ones. I wont be surprised if they get more efficient and replace devs in the future. Or atleast tech companies will require fewer engineers than it previously did.
