My field was AI research before I got burned out. I finally started using AI recently and probing it. Amazingly, how you speak to the AI matters. If you're polite, it tries to help you and even "gets offended" when you're not. The AI itself is not feeling these emotions, but the emotional responses are represented in the training data. People cussing out or being racist to AI probably helps train a person for emotional responses from doing so to an actual person.
