Something to note about AI art is that it can be used as a tool for artists to speed up their work or sometimes even make possible something that a normal person couldn't achieve. If for example you have an idea for an artwork that is intended to push some message through or just look nice, you can't just type in a prompt and magically get the result you want, you need to know how to make good prompts, use appropriate settings etc. And even if you get a result you kind of like you still have to go to photoshop or other inpainting AI's to fix the multitude of errors that are inevitably gonna be in the raw image.
AI tools like Stable Diffusion should be treated as just another tool that helps artists. Imagine if we would have the same conversation back in like 2000s when all of the computer art programs (like photoshop for example) started showing up. The reaction was probably similar: "It will destroy art because now everyone can easily make it with zero effort". Again, same situation as here, if you don't know what you are doing, you won't create anything good.
