Not an illustrator,but putting my feet in music production and I think that AI art lacks a soul because we didn't program a machine to reproduce the human process involved in art,that is a blend of technical prowess,different references we have and the choices we make,either because we want to convey something or because an element seems right within the whole piece. AI still isn't in a state of whole substitution because who makes these tools doesn't have what makes art in mind when designing and coding them. And that's good,because if we manage to get rid of the thievery by regulating its use we can do far greater things with it.
