As a teacher myself, this new technology is genuinely hard to make sense of. Do I allow student to us it? Do I want to use it? Can I figure out when students cheat with it? Can I figure out whether it’s truly just great student work? How far should AI go? Nobody prepared me for it and everybody has a different opinion. Also I’m young, I’m INTRIGUED by new technology. So there’s a constant battle between personal me and professional me. Did people feel like this when the internet came into existence?
I do see the very real threat of our critical thinking skills declining though. And considering the state of the world, that doesn’t bode well.
