I am willing to concede that there is skill in being able to prompt an AI tool and get your desired result, but that doesn’t make you an artist. If I tell a photographer that I really want a picture of a fox looking inquisitive in the woods and he gets the shot, that doesn’t make me an artist. I am in no way saying AI doesn’t have value or that it isn’t a work of absolute genius, but “AI artist” is an oxymoron.
