I got side tracked a little, by the eminent gentlemans dissection of ‘AI’ he basically explained a problem that has plagued my education since first days at junior school. I always hated using equations, formulas and methods that I didn’t understand or how and for what reason they were formulated. I couldn’t articulate my unease about it all without appearing as ADHD or troublemaker as it was called in those days (the 1970s, a bigoted discriminating era). It’s only later in life that I’ve been on a wonderful journey of mature relearning from first principles all the things I felt I should’ve learnt prior. Along the way I’ve had constant thoughts like “if only we’d learned it this way, or teachers shown us that, or told us why it is was what it was…” Personally I have myself to blame as well, as had a total lack of self confidence to speak up and truly believing that I will be heard. My life and academic journey and working life would’ve likely been very different from the unusual hotch potch trail of mediocrity it became but were never too old to learn 🙏🏾
