I definitely do not think artists should quit, nor do I think young people shouldn't consider getting in to drawing. Just the same as people should consider painting, scuplting or any other craft in general. At the same time, I don't expect people to stop using "AI." I can also see how it is a whole different can of worms from simply just tracing, but definitely no where as bad as trying to pass of forgery art. Just like the most vehement defenders of generated art will say it's not a big deal, however, there is definitely a cult of personality around artists thinking they are better than the people who write the programs that make the images possible. Sure, it's best to have consent about what these systems are trained on, but that was never going to happen. Our personal information is constantly being collected by these companies under predatory ToS's and EULAs. Art is petty, relatively, and that's a truth a lot of artists really need to swallow. It sucks, but that is the reality we all play under.
