I think calling Ai art lower cost of entry is outright ridicoulous in every aspect, it's not cheap to use it consumes a lot of energy which energy cost money, you'll need some form of internet connection which yea a lot of people in the developed world have but that cost money right there, computer or smart phone or tablet, subscription model and your own power to have your phone or tablet charger or pc working, but art the neat thing is it can be done in a cave with some crushed barries or grinding up pigments you find naturally in nature like shells or other minerals to then draw with or even a stick and some dirt or snow. Art is cheap to get into.
While I don't think AI is an evil villain, I think people actually wanting AI to be accepted in media and as art are just wanting the most brain-rot version of entertainment and slop. I'm sorry but we don't need media to be more brain rot than it already is, you are tricking your brain into thinking you did the hardwork and that overall will lessen your quality of life it's like watching art tutorials instead of drawing along or going off on your own after to apply the knowledge. You only harm your own progress and won't improve unless you physically and mentally do the act of drawing and learning.
Ai is neat has a lot of use cases but why does it need to be forced into media where media is already becoming so low effort in a lot of cases we don't need more of that, we need more creatives and people actually putting their own idea's out there and stories not just "Make me a dark fantasy imagine with a buff dude and a massive sword slaying a dragon! In a semi realism style" you only rob yourself of the experience and having hobbies which will make you extremely depressed later in life this isn't even about AI image generators anymore this is a genuine PSA.
Just pick up hobbies and stop trying to consume slop and justify it because it will seriously make your depressed later in life loads of older people out there that just sit in front of a TV drinking all day because they have nothing better to do because that gives them dopamine and they never bothered to learn anything just go to work go home, turn on the TV and drink. It's not healthy, and it's depressing, seriously, just learn to draw and or pick up a hobby, stop seeking instant gratification. I also think the majority of people who think AI is cheap and costs nothing to get into are children who don't understand the internet isn't free, nor was their tech.
AI really only benefits two parties if it becomes widly accepted and okay to use it, it benefits the company that makes the model and the company that produces the slop which now instead of hiring actual artist, writers, editors etc just hires 2 dudes for cheap over seas to type out a ton of stuff slap it together and ship it back and they release it for full price which people pay for and the one getting burnt is the consumer who doesn't reap anything from it but a hole in their wallet where their money once was
