People don't see visual art the same way that they see other creative outputs. What we're really talking about is plagerism. If you download all of Stephen King's books into an AI and then use the stories it produces to compete with King in selling books in his style, everyone would see the problem. You'd be able to pick out his story arcs, his tone, and his characters. Its Stephen King's work, even if it's scrambled. Same with music. SoundCloud has a lot of good song remixes that are free downloads because they can't be officially sold. The remix creators don't have have a right to sell the songs because they don't own the copyright to the originals. This is the same concept for visual artists. My visual ideas: my composition, my brushstrokes, and my themes are my work, even if you 'fudge' it a little. It came from my brain, not the AI's. Without me, the AI wouldnt be able to produce the same image. Its visual plagerism.
