It's just a large language model. It is going to parrot a garbled version of its training data. If you want software that can handle medical questions, you need to write medical software. Which is exactly what many companies and academics have been doing for decades, fine-tuning their products as much as possible for very specfic cases so as to minimize errors as much as possible.
People want Chatgpt to be some sort of magical replacement for all of this work and for a human doctor because they are either lazy or poor or both. They can open up a new chat with chatgpt for free and ask questions that sound expert enough to a layman.
