Ironically accelerating AI degeneration like this is an excellent way to improve AI technology across the board. The fact that some AI companies will lose money and some AI bros will not get away with casual IP theft is just a bonus in my book. I'd like to see the AI fully capable of everything it is now, unhindered, but if it's that vs not letting scum use it for bad things, I'd rather choose the latter any time. Modern AI is an excellent case study of the tradegy of the commons.
