Re warning shot asd protest. It surprises me that rob seems to not take into account that some people are actively denying the thing. And other are so hyped for it that really dont want to see anything bad. I had arguments with people that literally admit that ai was their biggest fear, but at the name time justified why they wanted to use it. When Rob said "connecting on an emotional level was paralizing", i think it will serve him that many many people experience the same. Rob can detach emotionolly and go in a brain mode. But imagine, if rob is an expert on the topic and paralizes him, imagine how paralizing and out of reach would be for people that dont even understand how this things work in general terms. Some people can only manage anxiety through denial, minimization, fantasies that all is going to be great (fueled by sociopath like salttman), but most of the people cant really do anything productive. The difference with atom bombs is that everyone was terrified about them, but with llms everyone is hooked like a drug. Ai girlfriends, ai therapists, ai hustler, "gpt is my best friend and confidant", ive even saw ai spiritual guru (wt holy f). Those people are ten times more motivated to NOT look at whats happening. I love the book "vital lies simple truths" i think Rob or the interviewer might find beneficial to look.
