A-FREAKING-MEN! Love this! You explained everything beautifully. I've seen a lot of book covers ripped from my peers (book cover designers) and fellow authors, and I'm beyond miffed. I love AI in general. And I love the idea of an opt-in part. What's happening is reprehensible and I'm tired of people spreading misinformation about AI generated "art." Thank goodness Amazon is cracking down and banning accounts where AI genreated "art" is used on book covers. One "artist" and all of his customers recently got banned (his terminated indefiniately), and all are terribly upset. Stock sites like Depositphotos stopped accepting them and started removing them because of the potential legalities, which makes them far more trustworthy than Shutterstock. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this. You draw clear lines I, as an artist, completely agree with (and love). It's much appreciated.
