This AI policy debates started in the right place maximize upside, limit harm but quickly drift into perfectionism. Nothing will be perfect. Calls to “pause” or heavily restrict AI often come from people who’ve never built at scale.
We’ve seen this before. Leaders like Bernie Sanders opposed nuclear for decades, while France built a reliable, low-carbon grid. Overcaution has real costs.
Meanwhile, the U.S. keeps repeating the same policy mistakes. Healthcare costs are roughly double those in Japan with no clear advantage in outcomes. Student debt is nearing $2 trillion. That’s not success but that’s systemic failure by the Uniparty.
The pattern is clear: overreach, inefficiency, and unintended consequences. The risk with AI isn’t moving too fast it’s overcorrecting, locking in incumbents, and stifling innovation. I'm over 60 not in tech and decided to see the hype by doing some projects in coding.
The goal shouldn’t be to stop AI. It should be to let it deliver exponentially more good without repeating the same policy failures. Lets be country of BUILDERS!! I know that is scary for you but don't worry you can transition to becoming productive people for society.
