This is "god has a sense of humor"-level ironic.
Symptom of illness? Human hallucination. Cause of illness? AI hallucination.
It goes a level deeper though; the mechanism of illness is the correct chemical being replaced with the wrong one, assuming it's a better replacement. Just AI is replacing people and software with a worse version.
