People think learning is easy for A.I. but learning is hard for A.I. They try to hide it by being fast however the truth is A.I. are a bit “mentally thick”. They’re not good students, they require lots of teaching and a huge number of very repetitive examples. Each lesson may last only a few femtosecond but progress is a slog because every time the A.I. learns almost nothing. There aren’t any insights, no “ah-ha” moments, nothing ever seems to click, it’s just one mindless calculation after another and another and so on billions of times over.
