This bit around 11:00 is a pretty good summary all by itself. > When you use AI to skip over large parts of the creative process and claim it's better, it's better because it cuts you out of the process. Shad, that's the problem. You can have the most descriptive and creative prompt ever. But when you put it into a machine trained from other people's art, you aren't the artist anymore. You may be an art director, someone who tells an artist what to make, but you aren't the artist. I do not see using AI in this way as making your art better. I see it as an admission that he doesn't have the skills he needs in order to properly express his creative vision. This leaves him reliant on the art skills of those who can. I can only add that it's not like the machine is trained from other people's art quite so much as it is like training the machine turns other people's art into confetti, and then it assembles a convincingly seamless (& soulless) collage from all of that. But you probably say the same thing, later on. BTW, I'm absolutely not an artist.
