The lack of accountability for the state of his mental health by his parents is concerning—I'm no cynic but I can't help but feel this is a case of folks being opportunists in the most inappropriate of times. Considering he was a Computer Science grad, I'd imagine he understood to some extent or another what ChatGPT is and how it works. It's not to say that there shouldn't be more safeguards for AI in place, but it seems Zane was failed by real people long before he was failed by greedy businesses.
