I actually dont know why youtube recommended me this, as art is quite far away from my life as a gamer and tech interested guy. I did enjoy the video tho, and for a couple of reasons that is. On the one hand you have quite the pleasant voice to listen to, so 👍there. My take on the points of the discussion; I draw a parallel between art and science; in science its not exactly usefull to have a 1000 papers that are meh, and mostly reference each other. That does not advance a field. rather the few in depth, well thougth out, meticously carried out Papers, that set the standards and shine in quality are what deepen the understanding of a subject. So its clearly about quality, not quantity. I'd say the same applies to art, its not about the number of pictures but about what they mean, represent and the emotions they invoke. Again about quality. Whereas the term luddites originates from the industrial revolution. From workers protesting against their exploitation and living conditions. But industrial production has an entirely different aspect. Its about minimizing inputs, maximizing outputs and cutting cost (often at the expense of workers) to produce as many goods for as cheap as possible. So this is about quantity. And that is the field wherein automatisation shines. Which AI is simply the latest iteration of. But injecting automatisation into a field its very core principle does not apply will not work. Or compressed: It doesnt matter how high quality a loaf of bread is, it'll only feed a person, so you need many to feed everybody. But the Mona Lisa, you only need once for everybody to enjoy it. And AI can only produce quantity, not quality.
