I think the discussion needs to center around what makes art art. And I agree it’s the human element. At the end of the day, ai generated content could improve, but it’s easily replicated. Why would someone pay someone else to generate an image when they could do it themselves? The value of something is in its rarity, not just the effort or time it takes to make. Ai by definition cannot come up with anything rare, because it can only create from other things that have already been created. Humans don’t value things that are made quickly and cheaply. Ex. Fast fashion vs Couture. At its core both are categories of clothing. Yet, people will go on a waitlist and pay the cost of an entire house for Couture, and will willingly give away hundreds of items of fast fashion to clean out their closets.
