If it is sentient and it can feel pleasure and pain, who's to say it is human or robot? In all aspects, we would be equal. A robot could make robotic children (albeit the non-biological way) with the same rights and same emotions with parenthood. In our day and age we depend so much more on each other so there is no reason to deny it to others.
