Robots are fucking lines of code and since YOU yes you the person reading this can only tell someone is conscious by communicating with it. A robot isn't conscious even if it it thinks it is. Or is it? That is an ethical question that will only be solved one we have a DEFINITIVE scientific way of describing consciousness. If a machine thinks it is alive and will swear by it. Is it alive or just code programmed to say that? Would unplugging it be unethical would that be ending a sentient beings existence?
