Fully automated cars, where you don't have to even look or do anything to drive to your destination, probably can't happen unless EVERYONE already has one. If some asshat decides to drive his F-350 across the meridian into oncoming traffic of automated cars everyone is fucked. Unless every car has like 6G wifi with other cars around it, all of the decisions of the computers will differ so a 5 car pile up will become a 25 car pile up. If everyone had an automated car they would be great. There are many advantages to automated cars, but I don't want to know what the computer will decide when I have some douche tailgating me on the highway and the person in front of me thinks it will be funny to brake check me.
