I completely disagree with this (first time for everything...)
Firstly. A.I. is simply a metric but ton of "if" and (or) "else" statements in the programming, anyone who has done programming will tell you that you need TONE'S of statements to get even the normal crappy A.I. we have today. And to simulate consciousness?! will take a lot longer than you think.
Secondly. If (somehow) A.I. became that powerful, we could just program it to pass along some rules that it must obey (A updated and changed Laws Of Robotics... Azimov.)
