We will take care of AI machines not because of any "dignity" they might have now or may attain in the future but because we as humans have dignity and as a consequence we are called to take good care of everything on this earth, AI machines, artifacts, animals, etc. The more we as humans discover our dignity the better we will deal with each other and with everything around us.
