i hope these things cause major accidents and public outrage. perhaps even kill someone (i know that sounds sick). we do not need more automation in our lives. truck driving is one of the few blue collar jobs left that actually pay a living wage. i make $700 in training, when training is done about $900-$1,200 per week. the jobs around my home are paying $23K per year. if i had to cover all of my living expenses on $23K per year, guess what game over foreclosure i loose my home. my wife, myself, and my 5 year old son would have to live in a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere and we would have to eat out of a garbage can. not everyone can afford collage, has the time for college, or is college material. i excell at hands on type of work, im not a lab rat type or someone who will sit behind a desk. i dont have the time for college either, i need to make money NOW not take time away from earning an income to go to college. plus if everyone has a degree and all jobs require college, what good is that degree. we have seen that already. i have seen job ads for jobs requiring a associates degree paying $12 hourly or $24k PER year. as far as saving the companies money LOL. companies like swift, schnieder, werner, ect ect make mutiple millions if not billions per year. you have no idea how much these companies make already. $$$$$. and that's with paying drivers $50K+ per year. if this did become reality these jobs would be gone and the corperate masters would be the only people to benefit. think your grocery bill would go down LOL. money flows in one direction, from the dirt poor to the ultra rich. i hope this next wealth stealing scam falls flat on its ass
