Yup, and I think there's one more massive difference, which a lot of people ignore: PCs were intended to make people more independent. With the smallest possible equipment. PCs first, then laptops, even tablets. Hell, you could have a full sound studio in your basement and many people did. With LLMs (notice I don't say AI - not the same thing), it's all about being dependent on huge monolithic corporate power centres, data centres, whatever you call them. The idea of independence is very much out of the window... Small scale AI, which could easily address some of the tasks handled (inappropriately) by LLMs is being ignored. Even PCs are suffering with RAM, CPU shortages and the like. This is definitely not about making *your* life easier, quite the opposite.
