Because one or two million isn't enough to retire on in the US if you have a family and want to live in a decent area.
You need $5 million to get $150,000 a year at a 3% withdrawal rate and $150,000 a year doesn't feel like a lot to someone used to making four times that.
Also, I'm interested in AI and want to larn from the best and that means working for now. I took six months off and spent almost all of it coding AI stuff so I figured I may as well get paid to learn.
