The end user adoption part is the most frustrating. I work at an otherwise stellar engineering firm and all of the messaging of AI is distinctly regurgitated talking points from sales pitches. We paid a lot of money for access to a “secure” AI platform that got trained on our materials. It’s absolute dogshit and we’re being sold AI by our employer because now they have to get what they paid for. They won’t though because the platform is little better than pre-AI google unless you’re writing an email. It places employees in an awful position. We’re already getting “Did you ask the AI platform” as a first response to almost all questions creating a de facto requirement for employees to use it. It isn’t helpful and any “gains” in productivity are offset by the fact that you have to throw spaghetti at the wall 15-16 times before you have something you can torture into a workable deliverable.
