Well my company isn’t laying off juniors… we just aren’t hiring them. I wouldn’t say it’s senior technical leaders that are driving the push (re not hiring juniors), but rather senior non-technical leaders that constantly see AI news. I would know since I have to deal with this daily from the CEO. At this point, if you’re a new grad/student, you better really focus on networking and having some sort of “in” with a company through an acquaintance, friend, or family because I have yet to see when this is going to turn around.
