Raw LLM Responses

I had a basic ticket a few weeks ago at a new job that I think perfectly describes the pros and cons of AI. New codebase and new language/framework for me, task was to add a filter to an existing query to only fetch users active in the last 12 months. I pasted the ticket description into Cursor - rather than extending the existing query it took the returned array and filtered through it in an ugly for loop. Technically this code would have "worked" from the perspective of a vibe coder, but it was very ugly code and a very inefficient way to handle the ticket. On the flip side, when I decided to do it properly then AI helped me trace through the code so much quicker!
