The current administration is run by a criminal senile octogenarian whose brain is mush and he can no longer compose a coherent sentence and his military is run by an idiotic tattooed alcoholic frat bro. The administration is petty, vengeful and always looking to bully people they don't like or have disagreed with. Yes, it's entirely reasonable that they have a newer or more advanced version of Claude. But considering that this administration has done things like threaten Canada for dumb reasons that include a bridge and a hockey game, there's absolutely no basis to suggest there's any logic behind their disagreement with Anthropic besides trump being a thin-skinned loser who is angry he didn't get his way.
